Program Stages

1st Stage - Residence

In this rst phase, the main applicant and their dependants will receive a temporary residence permit issued for 36 months, for which they must le a residence application and take Biometrics in Malta. Biometrics is mandatory for applicants over 2 years of age.
The ling of the residence application must be accompanied by the documents required in this phase, including a 36-month rental contract (or public deed of purchase of a property) and medical insurance for all applicants.
The processing time of the permit is around 15 days from the date of the application.

2nd stage - Eligibility

An application for eligibility can be presented once the residency card is issued or within the 12 months following its issuance. At this stage, the authority will conduct an in-depth review of the case consisting of rigorous 4-Tiers due diligence checks; if approved, the authority will issue a "Letter of Approval for Eligibility

3rd Stage - Citizenship

The citizenship application can be submitted once the residence period of 12 or 36 months has elapsed. The authority will update the due diligence checks. If the applicant's background proves to t the programme, the authority will issue a "Letter of Approval in Principle".
